Prevent Problems with Ceremony and Reception

  • Make a detailed list of who vendors should call in case of an emergency. That way you can avoid getting any calls on the day of your wedding.
  • Grab a few pregnancy nausea lozenges for your getting ready bag. They taste good, work quickly, and will be the perfect solution to any sickness you may feel during your wedding.
  • Have your flower girl and ring bearer make a trial run before the big day so they can be well acquainted with the space. If your little ones are particularly energetic you can try tying a pretty helium balloon around their wrist to keep them entertained for just the right amount of time.
  • Pack a bag of fun, quiet toys for the children at your wedding. Distribute them to the kids before the ceremony begins so they are well entertained throughout the night.
  • Have someone you trust listen to the speeches beforehand. Just to make sure they aren’t inappropriate, boring or too long.
  • Make it easy for your servers to know all the guests entree choices by making place cards with their choice on them.
  • Keep a few flowers handy in case the cake gets smudged in transit. You can quickly stick a couple flowers on their to cover up any mishaps and still have your cake look amazing.
  • If you are having a destination wedding consider arranging a group activity (hike, outdoor picnic, group class) to help everyone get acquainted before the big day.
  • If you have a big gap in time between your ceremony and reception, try having a small snack station and maybe an activity for your guests.
  • Feed the band at the same time your guests are eating so your guests don’t have to wait for them to finish and get back on stage.
